Proponents of genetically modified organisms and GMO foods purport that there is no real difference in basic nutrition and health issues. Once non-organic food is put to the test scientifically and studied, the nutritional quality of GMO foods do not even come close when comparing organic and non-organic meats that have been grown with GMO’s, chemicals and pesticides instead of grass fed and free range animals. This science study reviewed more than 200 scientific papers, which examined the difference between organic and non-organic milk and meat products. The researchers found that organic meat and milk products had far higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids in comparison to non-organic contenders. Omega-3 essential fats cannot be produced by the body itself, but must come from foods. The human brain is largely made up of omega-3 fatty acids, meaning organic food is literally brain food. It is of course no secret that organic food has better nutritional quality than non-organic food. For years GMO proponents have bombarded people around the world in all countries that there is no real difference between the two types of food. Thankfully, their argument and justification of GMO foods is flying in the face of current big time scientific research.
People choose organic milk and meat for three main reasons: Improved animal health, the positive impacts of organic farming and environment around the world and the major health benefits of eating non GMO foods. More important is that many scientific studies of GMO issues are coming to light all the time. “Sholly Sez!”
